This is to inform you that the general assembly of LINKftr on 18.12.2013 decided to liquidate LINKftr and transfer IP and related core activities to SINTEF, who is the majority shareholder in LINKftr.
Staff will be transferred to the research group on fatigue and fracture mechanics at SINTEF Materials & Chemistry. Thus, SINTEF will be positioned to serve current and prospective customers on products and services connected to LINKpipe and LINKpfat. Together with the strong research group at SINTEF Materials & Chemistry, the scientific advisors at NTNU will continue their support of product development and research based on the LINK software suite.
About SINTEF: SINTEF is the largest independent research organization in Scandinavia, with NOK 3.0 billion in turnover and around 2 100 employees, of which 671 close to 700 hold a doctoral degree. SINTEF is an independent, non-commercial organization, and the profits from contract research projects are continuously invested in new research, scientific equipment and thought leadership. In the course of the past five years, NOK 500 million was invested in laboratories and scientific equipment.
For you as a customer or partner, the above numbers testify to the domain knowledge, the scientific insight, and the long-term perspective that SINTEF can bring to the further development of LINKpipe and LINKpfat. We will make every effort to ensure that you as a customer will meet the same approachable people as before, that you will see the same flexibility regarding customer requests and that we will remain focused on exactly what LINKftr was always committed to: solving knotty engineering problems in fracture mechanics and fatigue.
